Get the maximum strength Roundup or Ortho Killzall concentrate and a tank sprayer. Mix the Roundup triple strength and add a few ounces of vegetable oil per gallon. Spray areas of the torpedo grass. Depending on level of infestation, you'll likely have to kill large areas of your lawn. Repeat treatments over a couple of weeks, to make sure you've really gotten it. Re-sod, or seed the dead parts of your lawn. Watch very carefully for new sprouts of torpedo grass and retreat- this time spot treatments will work since the weed will not be as wide spread. Areas bordering concrete are very likely to have some regrowth.

Don't- waste any time pulling torpedo grass, even if you dig it out. Pulling encourages growth, and getting every last bit of tuber-like rhizome is impossible. Chemicals are the only thing that seems to have an effect.

Some Professor at the University of Florida is working on a fungus to take care of it. Guess we'll wait and see!

anyone would be stupid to use any round up for this. Round up is linked to cancer: "Bayer reaches deals on many of its 125,000 Roundup weedkiller lawsuits" for example. Do you want to risk it?
