How do you get married on the Sims 3 game?

First you have to get them to "go steady". This can be done when they're being extremely flirty. It goes from "flirty" to "alluring" to "extremely irresistible". The box at the top left-hand corner will say "(your sims name) thinks (other sims name) is being extremely irresistible." When you get to that point, the option "go steady" should be available under the "romantic" portion.

After they're going steady get them to "extremely irresistible" again and there should be an option in which you can push to get them engaged. After they're engaged you can choose to throw a wedding party or have a private wedding. If you want to have a wedding party you go to you sims inventory and push the phone. Click on the option "Throw A Party". When you do that something should pop up asking you for the location and type of party and also what kind of clothes you would like them to wear. For example you can choose for them to be wearing Formal wear which is dressy clothes that most people would wear to a wedding or you could have Swim wear. Make sure you don't make your wedding at a time your sim works because if you do you will miss the wedding or get fired from your job. When its time for the party you go to the location you chose and click on the bride/groom. There will be an option for them to get married.

If you choose to have a private wedding all you have to do is after you are engaged click on the bride/groom and marry them. Its as easy as that. No visitors involved.

1.Click on the sim you want to marry with (make sure your reletionship is high enough)

2.Click on romantic.

3.Click on porpose.

4.Repeat step 1 & 2.

5.Click on have privite wedding.
