Repair the broken connections.
Yes, it just takes longer. If you haven't cut the old harness yet, you can buy a kit for your stereo to plug in to the existing harness. If it is already cut, you will need to figure out which wires are which (accessory, constant/memory, LF speaker, RR speaker, etc) and then splice them all together. Info on the harness for your car (which color wire is what) should be available on the net.
AnswerTry to buy ford speaker adapter plugs so you don't need to cut wires and mess the electric system up. You can get them from Ebay or Amazon

the factory installs a speaker harness which you can buy from your local audio/video shop and solder the neg- and pos+ on the speaker and just connect them. or you can cut the speaker harness off and solder straight the two neg and pos right on the speaker ans there ya go.. but if you have manual windows you'll have to remove the slip to get in the door and the rear deck just snaps off if you move ur hand along it

Fix the wiring harness between the body and the door, then in 10 months do the other side!!
If you haven't already cut off the original GM harness, it would be easier to purchase a harness adapter from your local car stereo dealer, this way all you have to do is match the wires from the adapter to the wires for your replacement stereo. They're universally color-coded. If, however, you already have cut off the original harness... Yellow = +12V (Hot in Acc or Run, for main power) Orange = +12V (Hot at all times, for clock & preset memory) Gray = Left Front Speaker (-) Tan = Left Front Speaker (+) Dark Green = Right Front Speaker (-) Light Green = Right Front Speaker (+) Light Blue = Right Rear Speaker (-) Dark Blue = Right Rear Speaker (+) Yellow/Black = Left Rear Speaker (-) Brown = Left Rear Speaker (+) Black = Negative (Chassis) Ground Also note there may be another brown and another gray wire for display brightness control.
well if you have the door off already then take a Philips head screwdriver and romove the speaker if you put a new speaker in try to roll down your window all the way first before instaling the door pannel. you might need the spacer to bring it out alittle. i just cut the factory harness and splied in the corect harness
