You do not turn the nob all the way on, just turn it slightly. You can regulate the pressure and volume manually as suggested above, or you can also go to your local hardware store and ask for a water pressure regulator (sometimes called a pressure reducer). They should be able to help you or direct you to a Plumbing supply.
How to reduce your water pressure to your taps if you have a high mains pressure or an unvented cylinder such as a megaflow, boilermate ect.
Reducing water pressure in your home can be done in several ways, the video demonstrates a few. Some people turn down the isolation valves or main stopcock which is not advisable, as it can produce noise, water hammer in pipes /taps and can damage the valves and stopcock.
provide a by-pass pipe line with a control valve in the discharge line to flow excess water back to the source tank.
Don't open it so much, or insert another valve before it.
With a pressure booster pump
Reset the pressure switch to energize (close) at a higher pressure. I would increase it 10# for starters.Ans 2 - That won't do it. The only way is to feed the outside hydrants from the pressure tank.
Seperate valve for outside faucet turned off, broken valve stem inside of outside faucet or handle stripped at faucet.
The only way you can find accurate pressure in a pipe is by mechanical means. If you want to know the pressure in your home just go to a hardware and by a pressure gauge with a hose adapter and screw it to your outside faucet and that will give you the pressure of your water at that elevation of your out side faucet. The higher the elevation of the water line = the less pressure.
The faucet is clogged
well if you have a plugged aerator or your water line is corroded then that is usually the reason a faucet has low pressure if its just one faucet.
Supply line clogged. The end of the stem where the washer is may have broken off so that the faucet isn't really opening. Shut the water off and take the stem out of the faucet and see what it looks like.
Most likely your bath and kitchen faucets have aerators. whereas your bathtub and outside faucet do not. In areas of hard water, minerals and sand build up in the aerators and need to be cleaned or replaced. Also the aerators could be water savers and will reduce flow as well. Hope this helps.
no
My parents went through this when they moved into there house. It is an older house. They ended having a plummer replace some and clean out the pipes. There was alot of calcium and mineral build up inside the lines. If it is just this outside faucet maybe you could just replace this pipe with new one. The faucet itself could be clogged. Good luck.
The problem could be as simple as a clogged screen in your faucet. It also may be a low flow gasket which is in the faucet to reduce water usage. Has this alwys been a problem or is it a new problem?
No. It takes much more than water pressure to turn on the water faucet. At most, there is a leak if anything at all.
It is pushed by the water pressure in the system.
