How do you know if your husband is telling you the truth?

I personally think you can tell if your boyfriend is telling the truth my your gut instinct, if you really feel they are not being honest then something could be up and perhaps then you should do your own investigating around the matter. If not, enjoy what you have and dont let your insecurities ruin a good relationship, I wish I'd listened to that advice from personal experience too. You Don't and you never will, how much do you trust him, and what do your friends think of him? Answer If you ask him something an he's like 'no, why would I?'... and then he tries to change the subject then he's probably lying.

Sorry, but if my EX-husbands lips were moving-he was lying. Seriously, just be on your toes. Watch for clues. I don't know what you suspect he may be lying about-a mistress, drug use, nit-picky things, etc.-but watch for clues. If you think he's cheating on you, then check his car and pockets for receipts that may prove it-like meals for two that you didn't attend, motel receipts, unexplained gifts, etc. Also, smell his shirt for perfume (or a different cologne than he normally wears-you never know these days!) If he is coming home with new things like gifts that he would never buy himself, etc. If he's lying about things that really don't matter, he could be a compulsive or habitual liar and believe me, there is nothing you can do to change him. He will only get defensive if you prove that he's lying. My ex was a habitual liar, but his little white lies kept growing until he even convinced himself that his lies were true and of course they got bigger and worse. If that's your case-GET OUT NOW!!

He will change the topic. Put words in your mouth that you never said. He will swear to you. Avoids questions ie: where have you been? He will not look you in the eye. He'll repeat the question or maybe ask what did you say even if you know he heard you the first time (buying time is what he is doing). Thats a few for now.

As with all things in a marriage, you should be able to trust him to do the right thing. if you believe he is lying, then you either need to figure out why you don't believe him, or convince him to tell the truth.

• Unless you have actual proof or he has changed his appearance or seems to be going out too much or suddenly working late nights; phone calls coming into the house and the person hangs up; he will hide his cell phone from you or is sure you cannot find out where he has been online on the computer then there is not much you can do except communicate with him privately and tell him how you feel and act like two adults and try to figure out where the problems lay in your marriage and work on that.
