if you hear a clicking sound when you start it its your starter..check the battery to see if that's good...if its your ignition switch you might smell burnt smoke around the steering column, and to replace ignition switch is like 300 bucks.
If the car will turn over every time, or at least try, the switch should be good (it's working to make it turn over!). It sounds like a starter going out. Good Luck!
might be starter relay, or the crank circuitry from the switch or to the starter from the relay. I would trace back from the starter to the starter relay back through the neutral safety switch to the ignition switch.
Ignition switch going bad, corroded or loose battery cables, starter relay or starter going bad.
It is false that the stat ignition switch position only activates the starter motor.
Check the neutral safety switch,it is located on the transmission or on the steering column ,under the dash.
Maybe something with the safety switch on the clutch, or the wiring going to the starter. May be ignition switch also.
maybe ignitoin or ignition switch
The starter relay is out. Or the ignition module. Or the ignition switch is out. And its the odds in that order. Greatest to least.
Generally the problem is either a defective neutral safety switch or a bad ignition switch (not ignition key lock).
yes
Sounds like a selenoid problem.
Bad neutral or clutch safety switch? Bad starter? bad starter solenoid?
A no start condition can be caused by a bad battery, bad connections on the battery, bad connections on the starter or ground and possibly by a bad neutral safety switch or ignition switch. Use a test light and see if your getting fire to the small wire on the starter when someone trys to start it. If you are, the starter is not working. If you aren't, check the ignition switch and the safety switch.
