Squeeze the loading door on the back to open. Slide out the staple carriage to receive the staples. Push the carriage into the gun and make sure it securely latches. There is a wire guide to let you know how many staples are left.

1. Pull the feed tensioning lever to the rear of the magazine. It is located on the side of the magazine near the top and moves forward and backward. It will latch when it is pulled all the way to the rear.

2. Loading staples is obvious - just like an office stapler. But the brads (nails) are different and it is not apparent until its done. Lay the nail clip with points facing down along the side of the magazine on the side opposite of the sight window. Mine is labelled " load nails this side". The magazine will hold two nail clips.

3. Move the tensioning lever release at the rear of the magazine to release the lever and allow it to move forward. The tensioner will slide forward along side the nail clip. At the same time, the load slot on the top of the magazine will close and the nailer is ready for use.

First, unplug the stapler.

Second, push down on the little red stem that sticks out of the lower rear of the stapler.

Pull on that same stem so that the shiny metal cover on the bottom retracts.

Turn the stapler upside down.

Insert staples (still attached to one another) into the groove on the bottom of the stapler (now facing upward since you are holding it upside down).

The staples should have their crowns (the flat part) deepest into the groove (and thus their points outward).

Release the stem so that the shiny metal cover returns all the way back into the stapler (covering up the staples you inserted)

Pull down and back on the black plastic knob at the rear bottom of the stapler, then slide out the loading bar as far as it will go (doesn't come all the way out). Insert the new staples (type T-50) up through the slot in the bottom of the stapler (easier if gun is upside down) with staple prongs aiming out of bottom of gun, then slide the loading bar all the way back in until you feel the black knob click into place. The new staples now are captured (won't fall out of the bottom), and the new string of staples are automatically preloaded to feed properly. Brads (proper sized) are loaded the same way, only along just one side of the slot in the bottom (there is a picture of a brad on each side of the stapler showing which side is the proper side to locate when loading). The loading bar captures and feeds the string of brads just like the staples.

I am guessing you can't fit the staples inside? Thats because you have the wrong size. I am looking for the .050 staple as well....Arrow T50 will NOT work. It seems the equivalent is the T15, or T-5-6 from Arrow or Bostitch.

I found staples for the 6847 Craftsman stapler at Ace Hardware. Buy Ace brand staples Heavy Duty Wide Crown II. Fits Craftsman 6847 .050" stapler.
