You should have no worries, this is a minor fix, but it will take up some time, so be prepared. :)
~Start yourself with a healthy breakfast as in Cheerios (which helps you heart), or Special K. Adding an apple to this is even better. Any fruit will do. Avoid Fattening Drinks and snacks; water should be the best option.
~Once you are done, you should either go to the gym or work out at home. The gym should supply you with all the things you need, but at home you could exercise by doing crunches, jumping jacks, or push-ups. Running around your neighborhood is another good option.
~At lunch, you need to commit yourself to a healthy diet. You don't need any Hamburgers, french fries, or anything fattening. What you should eat is a veggie wrap, tuna sandwich, a salad, fruit cup, yogurt, or anything in that category.
~If you have some free time, don't watch T.V., Go outside and get some fresh air, getting outdoor oxygen is the best option for a healthy lifestyle.
~For dinner, I suggest you eat your regular dinner as you usually do. You may do this, but eat 30% less than normal. (example:if you are ordering a Pizza, and you eat 4 slices, eat 3 or 2 1/2)
~Avoid dessert. Sugary foods are the last things you want to eat at this point. If you are still hungry, eat some yogurt or a fruit.
~Go to sleep at a healthy hour. Getting sleep is very good for your health. Wake up at a good time from 7 to 9. (Although don't force yourself out of bed, because that is not healthy for your brain.)
~Continue this until you are comfortable with your body. Weigh yourself everyday and keep track of your weight, and make a chart to see how much weight you lost.
Hope I could help!
Excercise, eat properly and little and often. If you burn more than you put in you will inevitably lose fat. Please remember - don't focus on the weight as such, but the fat amount and how you feel. Muscle weighs more than fat !
Walk, swim and if you don't already own a bike, get your family to buy you one. Cycle to school, the shops instead of using cars or buses. 1/2 hour a day can make all the difference.
And don't try to change it all at once - be patient and introduce one thing at a time. And try to enjoy it !
Most of all keep positive and focus on your ideal you, everyday imaginine yourself as you'd like to be and then pretend to be like it ! Eventually you will be that person if you want it bad enough!
This is the exact ammount of calories a person's body requires each day:
Women:
655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)
Men:
66 + (6.3 x weight in pounds) + (12.9 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years)
There are many types of diet/excersice plans but the one I found works the best is the portion control diet. Using the PCD a person usually subtracts about 100-300 calories from there daily caloric expendure (depending on what they can do) then divide what remains by the number of meals they eat. Note: the higher number of meals the better because having a large number of meals boosts metabolism and makes it feel like you had up to 10% more calories in that meal than you actually did. Often a person will combine this with other plans like the 45:40:15 plan which is when a person eats 45% of their calories as carbs, 40% as protein, and 15% as fat.
Other useful info:
4082 calories/ pound of fat (you can find your percent body fat and calculate the number of pound of fat you have then see how many total calories of fat are in your body. you can use this info to calculate how long it will take, depending on how many calories you are shaving of with the diet, to completely lose all your fat.)
100 burned calories/ mile transversed (wether you walk jog or run the ammount of calories burned per mile remains the same, the only thing changed is the ammount of time it took for that mile to be transversed. however a greater incline will affect the number of calories burned. One way to determine a good speed is to fin d your optimal heart rate using this equation[ OPTIMAL HEART RATE IN BEATS PER MINUTE=0.6(220-AGE), for a 13 yr old it is 124.2 BPM] and then running/walking at a speed that keep your heart rate at that lvl. to monitor your heart rate go to any drug store and purchase a heart rate monitor, some of these will also come with a step count/distance count and calorie counter.)
9 calories/ gram fat --- 4 calories/gram protein --- 4 calories/ gram carbs (using this and a calorie ratio plan (like the 45:40:15) you can calculate how many grams of each type of food you should eat)
5% or less body fat will show 6-pack abs (NOTE: this is not 100% accurate and may differ from person to person, also it is very unnatractive for a female to have 6-pack abs so i don't recommend trying to get them.)
Doing cardio then working out results in fat loss in areas where you worked (So if you run a mile then do pushups or sit-ups you will lose fat in you arms/chest and belly respectively.)
Personally, I don't think a person 5-8 and 160 is really that much overweight. But, to lose weight (if I were 13 again) in this day and age, I would suggest that you put away the chips etc. and get off the couch. Go outside and play whatever sport is in season. Walk, if realistic, to stores instead of getting mom to drive you. A wise man told me once to eat every thing I snacked on after dinner standing up. That way you will eat less. It is harder for teens to lose weight in today's world because there are so many things available to prevent playing outside, eg. computers. game boys etc.
The best way for a 5' 9, 170 pound, 13 year-old-boy to lose weight fast is to increase his activity level, which will burn calories and boost his metabolism. Losing weight too fast isn't a good idea, since it's very easy to regain it when you do.
Exercise daily and be sure to eat healthy. NO junk food .
Exercise and healthy eating is alway good, but also consider that 170 might be a "normal" weight for you. It depends on your height, bone size, body mass index, genetics, etc. Consult a chart or see a Doctor to determine your ideal weight.
I'm 11 years old and i use to weigh 107 pounds. Now i way 96 pounds. All i did was eat cereal under 170 calories until dinner, no snacks and no lunch. And for dinner...... You can eat anything under 470 calories. But, at the end of the day i walk, mostly 2 miles and 1/3 of a mile. Also, buy the new shape ups and wear them while walking. In like 2 weeks of following my diet, you will see results.
