How do you make a character everyone will love?

Well it all depends on who your aiming the book at, for example:

Children: Funny and a little silly too.

Teens: Humorous, classic but serious in a funny way, or unusual but normal (if you get what I mean) cute

Adults: NA (too variable)

All people have different things that they like and dislike but for a start you could look at different television characters and maybe analyze what people like about them and what makes them so popular e.g:

Chuckle brothers:

• They are literal.
• Funny.
• Have special phrases (i.e "to you" "to me" "to you" etc. etc.)
• Silly but not over the top.
• Classic
• Double act
• Comedy

So you could then create a character named um... I dunno Endalf. You could maybe make him a catch phrase or trade mark so he could maybe roll his eyes to the left and stick his tongue out to the right when he is consentrated. He could take things literaly too, say someone was very tall and they said to him:

"I'm over the moon!" he could say back: "Well not quite,"

Next, after you've thought about his personality you need to think about how you are gonna describe him. So you could say he was small, tubby, white haired and perhaps he could have a little goatie or something.

Please remember that all people like different things so it is pretty impossible to create the perfect character (plz don't copy the idea displlayed, just use your imagination).
