How do you silence an iPhone?

on the left edge ,or side of the phone there is a little switch thing (kinda looks like a switch but it's sideways) and you should push that switch the opposite direction and there should be a little orange dot where the switch thingy was originally. and a square with a microphone thing in it with a cross line over the microphone should appear then fade away slowly on your screen. from then on your phone is muted , every game and call and text that you get is completely on silent and your phone doesnt even vibrate . . . . ((:

There should be a button next to the volume, flick it to orange.

Theres a button on the side you push down and all volume turns off

simply turn the volume to the lowest and it would mute itself automatically.
