Most remote controls come with codes for TVs, DVDs and cable boxes. You can also check the remote control manufactures web page. I find it is better to just buy a universal remote control, that way I can program multiple devices on one remote control.

The only way I know to program this TV without the remote is to unplug the TV and leave it unplugged for 2 or 3 weeks (I'm not sure of the exact time, but I know that it's more than one week and no more than about three weeks). When you turn the TV back on, it will want to re-program. I know it's kind of an inconvenience, but it's the only way I know of if you don't have the remote.

Here are the codes for the Emerson TV: 733, 632, 652, 534, 536, or 590.

Here is the instructions on how to program the remote to the TV.

Address Remote to TV

  1. While at the device location, point the remote at the device. Press and hold the device button on the remote. - All four mode buttons should light up
  2. Enter the three-digit remote control code - The mode button you selected should light up

If you are programming a code into AUX Mode, you must do the following before entering the device code:

Press 0 for a TV (if TV code is 500, enter 0500)

Press 1 for a VCR/DVD (if DVD code is 617, enter 1617)

Press 2 for any other device (if device code is 639, enter 2639)

  1. Press the Pound (#) button - The mode button you are programming should flash three times
  2. Press the large, red POWER button - The device should turn off

What universal remote works with a Philip dvp3150v DVD VCR player?

I just picked up a Philips DVD3150C DVD/VCR at at thrift store for $5 without a remote. My universal remote that I already had on hand is a Philips SRU4105WM/17. This remote worked perfectly with the DVD3150V. The codes were 0598 for the DVD and 0230 for the VCR. By the way, I love this Philips remote; I've been able to use it for everything in my hodge podge collection of gear.
