How do you propose over the phone if you are in love with a woman who lives six hours away?

If she only lives 6 hours away either drive, take a bus or a train, plane, pony express (whatever) and get engaged to her face-to-face!!!! This is a very big moment in a young woman's life so don't disappoint her. DON'T do it over the phone as even you will lose that very precious moment of asking for her hand in marriage. That's part of the memories between two people in love.

AnswerDON'T propose over the phone...PLEASE.it is a proposal. if there is any one memory that is the most engraved in someone's life, it's the PROPOSAL.PLEASE...DO anything possible to travel over to this person. it will say alot to them that you have put the effort in. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER.if you are scared that you will be rejected, DON'T BE. you will know and fined out iether way, by phone, or by being in front of them. then you'll always know you tried.if you say you love them, THEN SHOW IT, by going to tell them FACE TO FACE.if you love them, then they are worth the effort, don't you think?there is NO EXUSE to not travelling over to them.Good Luck. AnswerOk her is my dilema. I am in Germany right now in the Army. She is in Tennessee. She waited for me to get back from Iraq before we got together. Now I am going back and I am not sure if I will make it back this time. I will have one more trip back to the states before I go to Iraq so I bought a ring and mailed it to my parents and told them to hold on to it. I am planning on having her go over there so I can popose over the phone. That way we can get married while I am home before I go to Iraq. I love her with all my heart but I don't make enough money in the Army to fly there twice nor do I think my unit will let me go before the scheduled time. I need some advice on this. Any help will work except for negative help. Thanks.

AnswerOooh - I just thought of something cool! (Thanks for explaining the specifics by the way - that helps!) You could propose virtually so she can actually see your face - that is, on video camera! This would require some work but is just the sort of project for a love-struck fellow to figure out :) Perhaps a local or national television station would have some ideas too, that would make it really really really big :) So you could make this big special filming and then they could go to her house...play your proposal on TV...catch her reactions back in her hometown...arrange for a special presentation to be made of the ring...and broadcast her reactions on television too for you so see live! Gosh I hope you could find a station to help you - it's DEFINATELY worth a try! I'll bet the producers would get really into the idea, too, especially since you're going to serve our country AND everyone loves proposals. And not only that - she would definitely be impressed, whereas a phone proposal is a bit of a letdown even though I understand your tough situation.

Please try the first option first, but if that doesn't work for some reason, perhaps you could arrange to make some type of video of you proposing to her (very cute you'd be, I know :) and have her family play it to her with as many people and friends around her as possible...meanwhile you could be on the phone on speakerphone in the background to hear her reaction "live"...and have her family videotaping HER reaction to the videotape she's watching...and then you get on the phone and tell her you love her a million times and propose to her again over the phone (good luck getting it out because she'll be so choked up or saying yes yes a million times).

If you are creative, you can add your personal touch to the video or live proposal - something special about your relationship - and this will be a moment she'll never forget.
