Antifreeze is water soluble. You can use water to rinse the anti-freeze out of the carpeting provided you remove the carpeting from the car first. You don't want to put water on the carpet on the car while it is in the car because water will cause the floor to rust and holes in the floor are bad. The antifreeze, left in place, will not cause this problem. Note that wet carpet must be allowed to fully dry before being put back in place. This can take a few days.
I hate it when things like this happen, so no longer do any auto repairs in the living room. It's better to use a room with an antifreeze colored carpet.
For a large area, remove the carpet from the vehicle, clean with a good carpet cleaner, allow to dry thoroughly, reinstall carpet. For a small area, clean with a good carpet cleaner and allow to dry thoroughly.

You can either remove your carpet and add a new one, or wash the carpet

It depends on how big the carpet is.
remove mold from wool carpet
I hasd a similar problem with a 1990 Camaro. My carpet was wet from a leaking heater core. Smell the carpet where it is wet. Does it smell like antifreeze or is it the color of antifreeze? If so nyou have a bad or leaking heater core. Good Luck
get new carpet
Stains from carpet cannot be easily removed with plain water. Stain remover/ carpet cleaner is necessary in order to completely remove it.
How expensive is it to remove mold from fabric seats and carpet in car?
You can use a spot remover, but it might be better for the carpet, kids, and pets if you use a carpet steam cleaner that uses hot water. This will melt the glue and remove it easily.
