How do you remove the battery from a Ford Taurus - Mercury Sable?

Pretty typical procedures for Ford products:
- Loosen the nut on the negative battery cable clamp on top of the battery - using a twisting-motion, pull it up & off the battery
- Repeat for the positive cable
- Now look for what is actually holding the battery down.
The typical arrangement is a bar going across the top of the battery that has a threaded rod on each end. I bet you'll find a 10mm nut on them
NOTE: Be sure to remove the negative/black battery cable FIRST.
If you're buying a new battery, most stores offer free installation - from virtually every auto parts store to Walmart offer this service.
