It just snaps in that is why they are always missing because they come off so easy
On the newer vehicles Im not to familar with but if its just the plastic outside cover I dont think you can, you would have to replace the assembly. Is it just the lighter cover or the ash tray cover that covers everything?
It's in the fuse panel under the hood. It's a black plastic box near the battery. On the inside cover there should be a diagram that will tell you which is for the lighter.
its 20amps on mine for cigarette lighter & interior lights. It tells you on the back of the fuse cover.
Please tell me how to replace the accessory power outlet cover on my 2010 Silverado Pick up.
The VW Passat cigarette lighter fuse can be found in the fuse box. The location of the fuse will be listed on the inside cover of the fuse box.
Go into your fuse box (located on the passenger side of your vehicle on the panel). The cover will show you the location of the lighter fuse. Replace fuse with same wattage fuse as you remove.
8 --------- I own a 2006 Dodge Stratus, and I also had a problem with my cigarette lighter socket. I located the exact fuse by accident the other day. -The owner's manual DOES NOT specify a fuse for the cigarette lighter. -The internal fuse box cover DOES NOT specify a fuse for the cigarette lighter. (This fuse box is located below and to the left of the steering wheel. Access by opening the driver door, then pull the cover off to reveal the fuse box. The fuse diagram is under the cover.) -The fuse for the cigarette lighter is located in ANOTHER FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD next to the positive (red) jumper cable terminal. Remove the cover by pinching the tabs inward. The cigarette lighter fuse is a 20 amp fuse on the bottom row.
Below and to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal ( it has a cover on it ) Fuse ( # 1 ) is a 20 amp fuse for the cigarette lighter
For the cigarette lighter: 1 First check if the lighter element is good. Use a volt meter to see if there is voltage inside the cavity. If there is voltage, get a new element. 2. The fuse box is under the dash on the drivers side. Remove the cover and check fuse #10, it will be a 15 amp fuse. Replace it if blown, if not there is probably a broken wire someplace. Probably on the lighter cavity (receptical). Joedi
It's under the hood; there is a diagram inside the cover that shows what each fuse is for.
Below the radio on the right side there is a cover Remove the cover by pulling on the frt of it. On the inside of the cover it tells you the fuses and the locations Lighter is close to the bottom
