remove them greese them up if that dont work replace seals or buy new ones
The 1990 uses a t50. The 89 is probably the same.
Changing brakes is simple. Lift the car, remove the tire, remove the brake shoe, remove the old brake pad, replace it with a new brake pad, return the brake shoe, replace the wheel and lower the car.

Sounds like you need to replace your Calipers at at least one of them if both are not heating up. The piton in the caniper is likely siezed common problem on any vehicle.
1989 Honda Civic models did not come with ABS. The car was a smaller compact hatchback and used basic front disk brakes with rear drums.
You can order the part at carpartsdiscount.com installation is easy. Just remove the clamps remove the hose replace the clamps with the new hose.
Take it by auto zone, they will replace it for you.. this works best for me, im in and out in 15mins.
