I use the long stem funnel to put transmission fluid into my older Jeep. You pour in the fluid where the dip stick is located. It's a located a bit deeper than most engines I've seen. Once you're done, just replace the dipstick. It's a hassle if you dont have the right funnel.

you need a funnel. stick the funnel into the hole where the trans. dipstick goes in. insert new fluid .
There is a small line that runs up the side of the engine, usually red take out the dip stick and whipe it on a clean cloth and if the fliud is red its the transmission, make sure the stick is out and use a funnel to pour the new trans fliud into the line, replace stick and your done.
