Looking at the procedure in my 1980 GM service manual and comparing it to my 1984 G20 van, it apears to be simple process. 1983 should be very close. Negative battery cable must be disconnected. Coolant recovery tank and power antenna need to be removed. Blower motor lead wire is disconnected. Blower motor mounting screws (number may vary) are removed. Blower motor and wheel (cage) are removed as an assembly by prying gently on the blower flange. The sealer may be damaged in the process. The wheel can be removed from the motor. Apply new bead of sealer to the entire circumference of the mounting flange of the new motor. Installation is reverse of removal.
