It should be on left(driver) side of the frame well in front of the gas tank. It will be under pressure. I've heard some say to open the gas cap and let it sit for 30 minutes or so to let some of the pressure equalize. The filter has quick clip safety connectors at each end. Clean off both ends so no crud gets in open lines. Remove the safety clips and pull off hoses. have rags and/or bucket to catch any gas coming out(it will drian some, but not that much) Put new one and reverse the process. Start and look for leaks.

The fuel filter is located in the gas tank as part of the fuel pump assembly. So change it whenever you have to replace the fuel pump.
The filter is behind the left headlight, Take the ducting off and get to the filter to change it.
