it take a lill bit of work but u have to remove the alt and pwr steering then your valve cover gaskets and your air intake manafold must have all gas line water line and air lines dissconected remove the air intake manafold disconect your fule injc remove your battelship(the bottom of the air intake)now your heads r exposed but your valve rods must be removed u should keep them in the order they came out must be done and now u can start talkeing off the heads keeping in mind u must torque the heads back down when u r done need's to be set right look in a haynes manaul or ask a gmc dealer!!! RREALY IT'S PROBLY FASTER TO JUST PUT A USED OR NEW MOTOR IN!!
