How do you reset the fuel pump shut off switch on a 1997 ford probe it is located it in the trunk but now what how do you reset it?

ok all you have to do is push the red button in, if it will not click in and stay in then the shut off switch is most likely bad.
Answerwe are trying to find out the same thing on a 1992 Ford ProbeIs the switch the same for all Ford products? i.e. 1998 Mustang

On a 1997 Ford Probe the fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is in the
cargo area under the carpet , near the drivers side taillight . If you don't smell
gas or see any gas leaking press the raised portion of the rubber cover in order
to reset the switch . Turn your ignition key to the RUN position for a few
seconds and then turn your ignition key to the OFF position . Make another
check for the smell of gas or any gas leaking , if none , go ahead and start the
engine
