To do a system restore back to factory default you will either need the install disk that came with the computer or you will need to access the partition on the hard drive that contains the install files. You need to either boot up the computer with the install CD and follow the prompts. If installing factory defaults from a partition on the hard drive, you will need to find out with function key will get you into repair mode. This key is different for each make and model.

You should already have the restore disk. When most computer manufactures send you a computer, they send the operating system disks and driver disks with the new computer. If you didn't get those disks, contact Toshiba. If you don't get the disks, just download a Windows XP iso and an activation crack from isohunt.com.

to put xp back to factory settings 1)shut down your pc. 2)let it sit foe about 30 seconds. 3)power your pc back up and hit ctrl&f11 at the same time and follow on screen commands.

Push F9 on bootup when you see the ASUS logo that will allow you to do a factory restore , so the pc will be EXACTLY as it was when you first got it. you dont need cd's or anything, dont worry that it shows win98 it will load xp or whatever was installed when you first got it. rgds Badger
