What you probably meant was: "La chicharra del trabajo"
What's exactly that of "bell work" in English, because "trabajo de campana" does not seem to be real Spanish. "Trabajo de campana" is too literal. I cannot imagine somebody saying in Spanish: "Tengo un trabajo de campana" or "me voy a trabajar de campana", so the person is the bell! @_X
HI! =D
This is my opinion.
The term "bell work" refers to those initial morning activities students work while they get in and are settling down to start the day. If I had to give it a name in Spanish, I agree with you that "Trabajo de campana" does not sound that great. I would call it either "Trabajo Mañanero" or "Trabajo Matutino", both refer to morning work, but I think that works better.
Good luck! =)
You need to translate according to the idea of what the slang word is. Bell work is slang. What is the actual activity being done and why?
What would you say to someone that does not understand a lot of English to explain Bell Work?

Taco Bell is a major Mexican food chain, and is referred to as Taco Bell even by Spanish speakers. However, if you wanted to say Taco Bell in the literal sense of the word, it would translate to Taco Campana.
