Remote desktop is a program that is native on winxp. The home edition requires that you email the user of the other computer and then access via that way. XP professional allows you to just type in the computer name or IP address and you can connect. Click on Start, Go to all programs, accessories, communication, remote desktop connection. For Windows XP :

1. before everything, the first thing is to ensure whether the corporate network is configured so that it is permitted the use of remote desktop connection.

3. next, hit the Start Button and get into cpanel. Under cpanel, look for Performance and Maintenance and then system.

Writer, To do this you need to have the computer you wish to connect to, and the computer you wish to connect with successfully connected on a network. Once this is done, you need to right click my computer and click on the 'remote' tab and enable incoming remote desktop connections. Then go to 'Start', 'run' type in 'cmd' then press enter or click OK. type in 'ipconfig'. take note of the pc's ip address (eg. 192.168.0.xxx).
