Research. If you found the turtle your local library should have books of animals that are common in your area. You can call your local pet shop and ask them if they have someone who is knowledgable about turtles. If so, ask them if you can bring your turtle and have them look at it. If you can't transport it try a picture.

look at it, if it has a trait like red ears, then search "red ear turtle" on Google. they will have pictures, if the picture shows your turtle, then they will probably have the actual name.

Webbed feet is more of a water turtle. No web is a land turtle and each type of turtles has their own features. if it has a yellow belly then it is a yellow belly sea slider(like all 3 of mine!)

You can find what type of turtles yours is by looking in a turtle index, or in a book that has pictures so that you can work it out yourself.

Visit the website in 'related links'. Fill in at least two categories and hit search, and you should be able to find out what species your turtle is.

I am trying to figure out the same thing!!! Mine has a completely round black shell. The bottom of it andd his head is striped yellow. It's a tiny baby! I fed it a super small beetle, at first it had the bug's legs in it's mouth but later i seen the bug in it's mouth. What should i fed it? Do you have any idea's.

If the Ear has a long red spot on the side of it's head it is a red ear slider If the shell is a squared it is a Box turtle
