Occasionally, there have been cases where women were 'fired' or told that they were 'resigning', shortly after letting an employer know that they were pregnant. These cases are mostly illegal. If you suspect that your employer might try something like that, it may be better to send them a registered letter, informing them of your pregnancy. Legal cases against employers who use these bullying tactics against pregnant women have been usually successful, particularly the well-documented cases.
