To trade with Firered, all you have to do is buy a two-player link connector cable and go to the second floor of any Pokemon center. The second person over lets you trade or battle. But to trade with ruby, you have to find the ruby on one island and bring it to Celio. To trade to sapphire, find the sapphire on 6 island then defeat team rocket on five island. Once you have done both, you can trade with emerald as well. (you can't trade to diamond or pearl, you can only migrate, and that's completely differant)
by using a wireless adapter or a special cable.
