You will need a copy of Office XP. (Since Office 2007 is now available why not upgrade to the newest version) Insert the Cd and it should autoplay. If it does not not open the CD drive and find setup.exe and double click on it. Depending on your version (Open License or comercial) enter the key code when prompted. You will then be asked if you want to updgade previously installed components (recommended) or install the new version along with the old one. Follow the prompts. The upgrade will also migrate your Outlook profile settings and templates to the new version.
Office XP isn't the best suite, 2000 is the same thing pretty much.
A direct upgrade is not possible. Assuming your system even meets the requirements for Windows XP, you will need to back up any of your data and format the drive with the Windows XP setup program.
Purchase your office 2003 disk. Uninstall office 2000 through the control panel. Insert your 0ffice 2003 CD and follow through the install instructions from the autorun.
