email is now the most popular, and easiest way to send letters to people, but the old fashioned paper variety can still be used if that is what you prefer. Your older brother will presumably be interested to know if there is any news in your life, if you have a new address, a new job, a new spouse, and so forth, and even if there is nothing actually new, he would still like to know how you are doing, whether you are happy at your job, and so forth. If you have some opinion that might interest him, on any subject - you are alarmed by the civil war in Syria, you think President Obama is doing a good job, you are developing an interest in rap music, whatever the opinion may be, you can tell him about it. If you have seen any particularly good or particularly bad movies, you can mention it. Or perhaps you have read a particularly good or particularly bad book, which is also worth mentioning. Letters can actually be about anything, but those are some of the more common topics. You are free to discuss anything that may be on your mind. And maybe you miss your older brother and would like to visit him. That would also be very relevant to mention.
