To put a number in scientific notation follow these steps:

Let's use the number 12602000

1) Move the decimal all the way over until there is only one number in front of it.

1.2602000

2) Count how many times you moved the decimal over, if you move the decimal left the number will be positive. If you move the decimal right the number will be negative.

We moved the decimal 7 places

3) Take out any zeros that are not followed by any other number and then write x 10whatever number you moved the decimal places by.

1.2602 x 10^7

Reverse the process if you want it expressed as a normal decimal number.

The chemical name of carbon dioxide is (shh, don't tell anyone I'm revealing the Super Secret Chemist-Only Club name!) carbon dioxide. If you mean the chemical formula, it's CO2, though the actual structure is more like OCO.

A number in scientific notation is written as a * 10b where 1 ≤ a < 10 (although a can be negative with the domain reversed) and b is an integer (negative or positive).

To convert a number to scientific notation:

· If the number has no decimal point, then add one at the end.

· Then move the decimal point to just after the first digit while counting the number of places you have moved it.

· The new number, formed after moving the decimal point is a.

· The number of places to the left that the decimal point was moved is b. If it was moved to the right, then b is negative.

For example:

23045.06 becomes 2.304506*104

0.00023004 becomes 2.3004*10-4

To convert a number to scientific notation: · If the number has no decimal point, then add one at the end. · Then move the decimal point to just after the first digit while counting the number of places you have moved it. · The mantissa of the new number, formed after moving the decimal point is a. · If the original number is negative, then so is a. · The number of places to the left that the decimal point was moved is b. If it was moved to the right, then b is negative. For example: 23045.06 becomes 2.304506*10^4 -23045.06 becomes -2.304506*10^4 0.00023004 becomes 2.3004*10^-4

Formula for carbon dioxide?

The WORD EQUATION FOR CARBON DIOXIDE IS: CARBON + OXYGEN ---> CARBON DIOXIDE. ;)

What do you use carbon dioxide?

Well I use carbon dioxide in my fire extinguisher. What do you use carbon dioxide, or to put it another way? In what do you use carbon dioxide? Humans breathe out carbon dioxide... Breathing it out is not exactly using it. That would be more like making it.

What are two ways in which carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere?

Respiration by animals is one of the ways through which carbon dioxide is released to the atmosphere. The other way is through burning fuels that are carbon-based.

Do humans inhale carbon dioxide?

Humans breathe in whatever happens to be in the air when they breathe in. If there is carbon dioxide then they will breathe it in as well as nitrogen and oxygen. However they only use the oxygen for respiration so they breathe out everything else with extra carbon dioxide.

What decreases the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

The planet has a number of huge carbon sinks, removing CO2 from the atmosphere. The largest is the ocean, as CO2 dissolves. This absorbs roughly 80% of all carbon dioxide. Other sinks are photosynthesis by vegetation and phytoplankton, and the weathering of silicate rock. For more details, read about the carbon cycle. Currently, sources of carbon must outweigh the sinks because atmospheric CO2 is increasing globally by roughly 2 parts per million by volume per year, as can be seen in the NOAA measurements of atmospheric CO2. CO2 is even higher in cities and industrial areas, in places where fossil fuels are being burnt in quantity. The easiest way for us to reduce the carbon dioxide levels is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This is the scientific consensus view, and is the view held by the IPCC, all major scientific bodies and national academies of science around the world.

What do you mix to get carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide can be obtained by mixing carbon monoxide with oxygen. However, an easier way for obtaining carbon dioxide is the burning of coal or wax.

Does carbon dioxide represent one molecule of carbon dioxide?

Yes, carbon dioxide is one molecule. A molecule is an arrangement of atoms, and carbon dioxide is one carbon atom with an oxygen atom bound to both sides. It can be represented this way: O=C=OOr this way: CO2So, CO2 represents one molecule, but multiple atoms.
