You sacrifice an animal in Islam by slaughtering the animal after saying "Besm Allah Alrahman ElRahim- Allahu Akbar" that means in English "the name of the All Merciful All Compassionate God- God the Greater". After slaughtering, you sacrifice 1/3 to the poor, 1/3 to relatives, and the last third for you and your family. Of course you can sacrifice them all to the poor.
