A cavity magnetron vacuum tube has a magnetic field bend the path of electrons from the cathode to the plate into a very tight spiral. This produces an "electron wind" blowing across the inside surface of the cylindrical anode. This anode has many cavities machined into it that act much like "bottle whistles" in response to this "electron wind" and oscillate, but instead of generating audible sound they generate microwave electromagnetic radiation.

There is also control electronics, motors, cooling fans, etc. that also use some of the electrical energy, but the cavity magnetron vacuum tube by itself uses almost 3 orders of magnitude more of the electrical energy than any of these other parts.
