A tsunami is a natural occurrence often cause by an earthquake under the ocean or a volcanic explosion. When one comes ashore where people live it is usually a disaster as it destroys buildings and kills most people in it's path, so it is termed a natural disaster, one not caused by people.

A tornado is considered a natural disaster because it is a disastrous event of nature. Tornadoes are forces of nature, so they're natural, and they wreak havoc on the earth, so they are disasters.

A tsunamis is classified as a natural disaster because it is not man-made. One possible cause is when an undersea earthquake takes place. The displacement of water due to the massive shifting of rock can cause a rippling affect. The ripples radiate outwards and on reaching the friction of the shallow seas surrounding land, form a crest that comes on shore and heads inland, causing destruction of property and death. Eventually, the water has to flow back to sea, taking debris and sweeping property and animal life and humans caught up in the mass of water with it. There may may be several lesser waves to follow.

What do scientists do to predict tsunamis?

they predict other natural disasters like earthquakes and see if the trembles will reach the other side of the ocean causing a tsunami.

What is the most dangerous natural disaster why?

I think earthquakes are the most dangerous. You have no warning, and they can do the most damage in the shortest amount of time. A 15-second earthquake can kill hundreds. Most other natural disasters have some kind of warning to them. The only natural disaster I can think of that doesn't give you a warning other than an earthquake is a tsunami.

How can you help to avoid another tsunami?

It is sad to say that there is nothing humans can do to prevent tsunamis. They are natural disasters. It's like trying to stop a tornado from happening. You can always learn the signs of a tsunami so less people get hurt or die, but other then that there is nothing we can do.
