If you were to take a culture of brain cells on a petri dish and submerge them in a caffeine solution, it probably would. But in people, is drinking coffee going to kil…l brain cells? No. Even very high amounts would not.

Caffeine is a stimulant drug, which speeds up the synaptic connections in your brain, increasing reaction times. Nicotine, and Ecstasy do similar things, but are much more da…ngerous, and (in the case of ecstasy) illegal in most countries.
Caffeine while soluble in water also passes through the blood-brain barrier.

It causes the adrenal glands to produce adrenaline. This release of adrenaline causes a faster heart rate, opening up of breathing tubes, release of sugar into the bloodst…ream from the liver, tightening of muscles, an increase in blood flow to muscles. Other effects include an increase in dopamine levels.
Caffeine inhibits ADH causing the levels in the body to lower. Anti-Diuretic Hormone is released when the body wishes to conserve water. The hormone tells the kidneys to reab…sorb more water which results in urine becoming concentrated. Alcohol has a similar effect which is why, when it inhibits ADH, the body no longer attempts to conserve water. This results in frequent urination which eventually becomes clear as less waste has accumulated in the urine. The following morning after heavy drinking, the body is dehydrated resulting in concentrated urine. Coffee and caffeinated beverages are the worst hangover cures for this reason and will only starve the body of water further - resulting in a prolonged hangover!
Well I mixed them this morning and I've been tired, had nausea, had virtigo, lots of dizziness. Also my eyes couldn't focus on things.
There are obvious negative effects of sugar, but really only on the heart. Your brain on sugar is much more hyper active. Your neurons fire faster, and cause messages to be se…nt quicker. The reason there is a crash after eating a lot of sugar is because of a waste product of your neurons firing. The waste product is called Adenosine. Caffeine works by inhibiting Adenosine receptors which cause you to sleep. If you take sugar and caffeine together, you get hyper, with a slower crash rate than if you just had sugar. You can find out more about all of these things (sugar, caffeine, and adenosine) on sites like wikipedia, or more trustworthy sites...
