They run like heck outta there! Seriously, a cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world, and if it can, can easily out run a pride of lions/lionesses or a lone leopard. Their camouflage helps hides it from lions, leopards and hyenas, even though these animals don't actually prey on the cheetah, but rather choose to steal the cheetah's meal. If a cheetah gets caught though, it tries to use its teeth and claws to fight the grip of the lion or leopard, but chances are the cheetah will lose in this battle if it cannot get away as fast as possible.

The Cheetah protects itself through coloring and its speed as well as teeth/claws and its fast running.

a cheetah does not generally need to protect itself but a female does need to protect her cubs. unfortunately their bodies are not built for fighting and protecting - more for running fast to catch prey. they can run at the animal that is disturbing it and try to scare it away and swerve around it whilst avoiding the attackers attacks by maneuvering around it with its agile body.

They protect themselves by using the claws and teeth

Cheetahs are big predators and don't have any predators except when they're born. 80% of cubs are eaten by lions. Cheetahs do not roar, but they hiss and chirp when confronted. They also are the only cats in the world that do not have retractable claws. They spray their territory for one defense, but the largest defense is also their offense.

Speed, cheetahs are made for speed. They are the quickest land mammals on the planet. Basically they combine Speed, claws, and teeth

with its teeth and claws

Cheetah can protect it self by running fast and use their teeth.
Cheetah's run from their predators, but after a while they can run out of breath. Cheetah cubs, however, are covered in a thick mantle on their coat, which is sort of like camoflaugh. When curled into a ball, the coat fools its predators into thinking the cub is a honey badger, (one of the fiercest creatures in Africa!)
It has a force shield around it and laser beams in their eyes, also their spots turn multicoloured to confuse the enemy

Compared to other large cats, cheetahs aren't as strong or aggressive. They can defend themselves with their fangs and claws if necessary but they prefer to avoid conflict if possible. Their tan fur lets them camouflage themselves to avoid detection; they're also capable of bursts of very high speed - as much as 110 km/hr - so they can outrun nearly every other predator over short distances.

It has two defense mechanisms.

Speed - it is the fastest animal on earth. So, no animal can chase and catch an adult cheetah. However young ones aren't as fast and are fairly vulnerable

Camouflage - the skin of the cheetah is golden brown in color with black spots. This is similar to the color of the grasslands where they live and hence it is not so easy to spot a cheetah.
