How does pragmatism explain students' failure to learn?
Pragmatism assume that an idea is true if it works in practice. Since we cant apply basic matematics to our reality the students has difficulties process information and understand value. Pragmatism works and some of our scientific explanations not. 1x0=?

\n. \n Learning From Past Failures \n. \nMost of us would learn what NOT to do next time. But there are some who never learn.
Answer . \nRepetition. Usually the teacher or parent would write the letter on the blackboard and the child would repeat it on a slate. Sometimes wood scraps or even the back of a shovel were used. In colonial times it was common to have a horn book, a wooden paddle on which a piece of paper …with the alphabet, numbers and words were written. It was covered with a thin sheet of transparent horn to protect the paper from grubby hands. (MORE)
The best way to accept failure is to assess the damage, and figure out how you would do it differently in the future and not make the same mistake twice. If you look at failure as a learning experience (as all the inventors did), then you will welcome failure as a growing experience. Also, if there …is any collateral damage to your failure, be sure you admit to others your mistake and do what you can to make ammends, fix it, or take responsibility for it in any way appropriate. And above all, TRY AGAIN! The biggest failure is giving up. (MORE)
It depends on your style of learning. Some students learn best by seeing and reading, others by hearing, and still others must actually do the material to really learn it.

Yes music greatly affects the learning of all people. Withoutgetting too technical the predisposition of the brain for learningdepends heavily on the brain wave patterns, Alpha and Beta waves.Music is believed to be a stimulant for the production of Alphawaves which are activated when the brain is i…n a non stressedstate. Alpha wave activity in the brain permits the chemicalencoding of information to occur in a context that the brainrecognizes as beneficial. It is not a weakness to admit that you have failed at something inyour life. Employers want to know how you have bounced backed fromthose failures and what you have learned from those experiences. Itis best to stick to examples that are job related instead ofpersonal experiences.
There are probably many reasons why grades encourage students to learn the material.. One reaon that grades encourage students of pretty much any age to learn because it gives them an incentive. Most students will not do things that they find unpleasant or boring to get nothing in return. So in ord…er to get students to do things like memorize the periodic table of elements, read literature, or learn French II vocabulary, teachers grade students on how well they do it.. When you think about, it is kind of like how little children will try to do well on their spelling test so that they can get a piece of candy. But just giving out candy might not work with older students. So grades are given. For an older student, what grades they get can influence a lot of things: priveleges their parents get them, what colleges will accept them, being elgible for sport teams, and more. (MORE)

A student fails or gets less marks in exam because he does not know all the factors or does not pay attention to all the factors which make a student get high grades in exam. The consequences of our failure to learn from our negativeexperiences in our life or to adapt appropriately to them can oftenbe problems in our relationships, problems keeping or makingfriends, problems in employment such as disciplinary action perhapsleading to loss of job and income. The consequen…ce of that can benot having money we so badly need and perhaps problems with the lawresulting in punishment such as prison - all too often all just theconsequence of our failing to realize that we may have problems inour personality we failed to recognise and address. It need not be like that! The issue is everybody has some negative experiences in our life, some of us perhaps manymore than others. Typically failure in some venture that may be soimportant to our future in our relationships or work life orleisure activities. That makes us unhappy, angry and disillusionedwith the world. The wise individual after such a negativeexperience urgently needs to try to analyse why heor she failed. That means self analysis perhaps if possible inconjunction with advice from others. A friend indeed can be afriend indeed. Like you ask him or her "why does everybody dislikeme, nobody seems to want to go out with me, nobody seems to liketalking to me, please tell me what is wrong with me?". A truefriend, if you have any might perhaps tell you something you didnot realise about yourself. He might say "stop constantly moaningabout everybody else, everybody finds that trait of yours soirritating" or something like "if you had a shower or bath morefrequently, mate, that may change that", or may be another reasonmay be communicated. If not you may have to try to find outyourself by self-analysis of your negative experiences. Then having ascertained why, you then need to work out in your mind how to correct the trait(s) that is causing yourproblems and reprogramme your thinking and/or behaviour to try to ensure what is going wrong inyour life stops happening. Put simply that means turn yourfailure into your success by learning from your previousmistakes . May be scrubbing under your armpits twice perday to get rid of the decaying bacteria might be the solution forsome of us, or may be making a habit of always saying nice thingsabout others in future. Or when I failed an exam I ascertained the trait in my personalitythat led to that was making too many mistakes losing me marks. Fromthat I worked out in my mind those mistakes were because I had notworked hard enough in preparing myself for the exam, and hadadopted a careless and lazy and stupid attitude to my studying. Thesolution I worked out, after thinking things through, was my needto correct those traits that had caused this situation. That meantmodifying my thinking and my behaviour to stop myself being lazy, careless and irresponsible in future. The consequence was when Iretook that exam, next time I passed having changed my mindset awayfrom these negative traits to positive traits. But I could instead after my failing that exam have decided it wasall the fault of my teachers and the examiners are just unfair andbiased against me because of my race or my accent or sexualorientation or something similar. So just had a fit of depressionand a decided I was just a worthless disgrace to the human specie. The essential point is that we all make mistakesin our lives. But we all need to learn from ourmistakes AND ascertain the causes of them. Becauseessentially if we learn from our failure - failure can become theprecursor of future success. But some people who habitually fail inlife just do not realize they have personality problems, or fail tounderstand that their personalities are in any way unusual ordifficult, but instead blame circumstances, bad luck or otherpeople for their constant failures in their life. In the longerterm, it can prove difficult for those with personality problems toattain goals, such as avoiding the complications of drug or alcoholabuse or of them taking out their anger by harming others.Sometimes people may not realize they need help so just do not seekhelp and so just get into more and more trouble and that translatesinto increasing misery and disillusionment with their life. But itdoes not need to be like that! (MORE)
