Reflexology is an alternative therapy that involves specific pressure points on the under side of the feet and hands. Each reflex point is said to represent an organ within the body. E.g. If you have a problem with your bladder, usually you will feel very tender in the corresponding point on the foot. A reflexologist is trained in stimulating these areas to treat the complaint. It is a very relaxing treatment to have, resembling a foot massage.

Reflexology is a healing technique that in some cases incorporates massage, based on the belief that the body is divided in to various inter related nerve zones and that the hands and feet are the end points of the nervous system.

Reflexology considers the feet and hands to be divided in to several zones corresponding to different body parts which when stimulated give rise to beneficial flow of energy to the diseased area which has been inhibited of the same due to an incorrect mode of living stemming from a high stress lifestyle, lack of exercise, poor diet and the like.

The applying of pressure to the reflex areas found on the feet and hands has an overall calming effect on the bodily nerves inducing a deep state of relaxation as has been observed in some cases though the results have varied with some individuals having felt no difference to their previous condition after the procedure.
