A geosynchronous satellite stays in what is called a geostationary orbit. This means that they stay in one place, or follow a certain pattern each day. This is done by radio waves and communication.

What is a non Geo stationary satellite?

Non Geo stationary satellite is that satellite which has different angular velocity from earth and not placed on the height of 36000 Km from the earth. If you use Geo stationary satellite than only 3 satellites are enough to cover whole world. most of satellite are geostationary and they are(most of them) active satellites too.

Is a geo-stationary satellite useful?

If that translates as a geosynchronous satellite, then yes it is useful. This is a satellite which, once attaining high orbit, its speed is synchronized to the speed of the earth's orbit. This permits the satellite to remain in the same stationary position over a given portion of the earth's surface. These types of satellites are useful for communications such as weather and television etc. as there is no loss of signal. At least, that's the idea if one discounts a snowstorm or heavy rain and the tv goes out.

Why does the pole star remain stationary?

The Pole Star appears to remain stationary because it is directly above the North Pole.

What is the antonym for satellite?

An antonym means the opposite. A satellite is an orbiting object. The opposite of that would be a stationary object.

What is one thing that seems to move across the sky but does not?

a satellite in constant orbit in syncronisation with Earth - a stationary satellite

From earth one satellite appears to overtake another the faster satellite is?

Lower. The higher a satellite is, the more stationary it appears. for a satellite close to Earth, the period is a matter of hours, but for a satellite farther away, days.

Is the following sentence grammatically correct -'Energy of a substance which always remain stationary'?

It is not a sentence. There is no main verb.

Why can a satellite be stationary above the earths surface?

It appears stationary because it is moving around the Earth at the same rate that the Earth is rotating about its axis.

What happens when any object is dropped from a geo stationary satellite?

it revolves in the same orbit

If object is stationary is its accelaration necessarily zero?

If it is to remain stationary, then yes. However, an accelerating object can be stationary for an instant.

Does a satellite in a geostationary orbit move across the sky from east to west?

No. A geostationary satellite appears to be stationary in the sky, which means not moving. This is a big part of the reason why it is referred to as a geo'stationary' satellite.
