It is possible to create a Theremin-like device, (http://www.answers.com/topic/theremin?cat=entertainment) but your magnetic field (actually, you are dealing with electric fields) will not do anything to most electronic appliances (except for very sensative things, but you probably dont have those in your house)

Magnets are usually used in appliances with spinning motors such as a sewing machine or a fan.
They are also used in heat induction stoves. there is a magnet under the surface which also serves as a heating element. Wherever the pan makes contact, that's where the plate heats up.
In a spinning motor, there are 2 rotating magnets, one regular magnet and one electro-magnet. When electricity travels through the electro-magnet, both magnets will spin because either the south or north poles align and then repel each other. The normal magnet is attached to a shaft which spins a gear which eventually will spin whatever it is attached to.

This question does not have a trivial answer, but the following statement are facts which may match the question. (The term "interfere" is not well defined in this context. The term interfere implies a detection process. There are many detection processes and therefore the meaning of interfere depends on the detection.)

Potentially relevant facts:

1. Electric and magnetic fields obey the superposition principle so they merely add to or subtract from any existing electric or magnetic field.

2. (a) A static electric field has no effect on a magnetic field.
(b) A static magnetic field has no effect on an electric field.

3. (a) If the field is not static, i.e. if it is changing, then it is a fundamental law of nature that a changing magnetic field produces an electric field.
(b) If the field is not static, i.e. if it is changing, then it is a fundamental law of nature that a changing electric field produces an magnetic field.

Further specificity in the answer requires further specificity of the question.

when ever you have a changing current, you create a magnetic field.

All house hold appliances that draw AC power (plug into the wall) create magnetic fields, some obviously more than others.

What are the advantages of a good earth resistance value for an electrical system?

A good earth resistance value for an electrical system implies that, any persons making direct physical contacts with it are more secure from hurtful electrical current leakages that may, by fault, flow through it's outer metallic parts, and the system itself and the persons are again more secure from lightning heavy currents that might strike the system.
