The president gets his/her job by running for office and then encouriging that people vote for them. Then they do debates againt their opponent. The person with the most electoral votes wins the election. Even if they have more populaor votes

Each department has a large number of permanent employees. Information about working for these departments is given on their individual web sites. Civil service Jobs are also available in every state. One takes a civil service exam to qualify.
