How far can electric cars go?

Electric cars range is dependent on a lot of variables. The weight of the car and the quality of the drive train all affect the distance. Of course it also depends on the batteries. The best batteries to be used in Electric Cars at the moment are Lithium Ion Many Electric Vehicles like the Nissan Leaf will get anywhere from 100 to 150 miles per charge The Telsa Roadster though will get about 245 miles on a single charge

What new electric cars are available in 2011?

When can the consumer expect a total electric car for a reasonable price?

The Nissan Leaf is about to be released and that will cost 28,500 after federal tax incentives. You can buy electric vehicles for a few thousand dollars but they don't go very far. If you want something cheaper then that it's best to do your own conversion.

How far can the average electric car go on a single charge?

5 km

What happens when there is a build up of an electric charge on an object?

The charge repels so if it's a conductor the charge moves as far away as possible (the side of the object). It will also attract other objects with an opposite charge, or repel ones with like charge.

How long does it take to charge an electric hybrid car on average?

It can take anywhere from 3 and a half hours to 8 hours to charge the car. It depends on what car you choose. They have alot of electric hybrid cars to choose from. The charge for each car depends on how far you drive. Also it takes more time to charge the car than other vehicles.

Is the new electric Nissan LEAF a family car?

As anything, it depends. It is certainly roomy enough for a small family (think 3 kids if one is "smallish"). As far as value for dollar it depends on how far you drive. The closer to the maximum range you drive, the better the value for your dollar. I would suggest a electric car calculator. You can compare two separate cares, one being electric, and it will tell you at what point your electric car begins to pay off the difference in price. I will say this, I am spending a truly ridiculously small amount of money to commute. That being said, if you only drive 5 miles to work then.... not so much for you.

Where is the first blue leaf in far cry 3?

Are electric cars being used today?

Yes but as they only run so far on a charge their uptake has not been huge; there are more hybrid cards in use which use both petrol and electric motors to propel them.

What is the substance of electric charge?

As far as we know there isn't one. Electric charge is an intrinsic part of certain subatomic particles. We don't know why, nor do we know why they have the characteristic magnitude they do ... it's just how the universe is. Up quarks (which have a charge 2/3 as large as the charge on an electron, but of opposite polarity) and down quarks (which have a charge 1/3 as large as the charge on an electron, and of the same polarity) combine in such a way that protons wind up having the same charge as electrons but opposite polarity. We don't know why this should be so, but it's very convenient. If you meant the gauge particle ... the gauge particle for the electromagnetic force is the photon (which is not, itself, charged). There is no specific substance for electric charge. Lots of subatomic particles - but not all of them - have the property of electric charge, which may be positive or negative (or neutral). In practice, electric charge is often carried by electrons, but it may also be carried by positive or negative ions, by positive holes, etc.
