Answer . 4.0. Answer . At Florida State Moss ran a 4.25, the second fastest time behind Deion Sanders (4.23). i think randy moss is as fast as 4.5
At the present time (2008), around 4.6 seconds, or 4.2 seconds for 40 yards . . In 2007 I was 15 years old and I amazingly got a time of 4.28 seconds on a school 40 meter sprint event. Since then I have never been close to achieving this time.
According to ESPN Michael Vick ran a 4.36 in rookie mini camp following the 2001 NFL draft. That year during the 2001 NFL Combine Michael elected to opt out of the field testing portion. Excerpt from an ESPN article Tuesday May 8, 2001: "At a rookie mini-camp last weekend, Vick ran the 40-ya…rd dash in 4.36 seconds, the fastest time among the 19 draft picks and college free agents at the mandatory camp." There's a rumor around the internet that he ran in the 4.2 range but there's no veriable source to that claim and it isn't stated where or when he ran that time. It is generally accepted and most of Vick's verifiable times are in the 4.3 range. He has been clocked as fast as 4.25 and ran a 4.33 at the combine. he is a 4.09 40 yard dash some one is wrong ..that is impossible. their is no way that he ran it that fast. i would say he ran it in about 4.6 if that low. wes is fast but it is his acceleration and good routes that catches every-ones eye.
Emmitt Smith ran the 40 yard dash in 4.5 seconds. Emmitt Smith wasa football player for the NFL up until his retirement in 2000.
Well I'm 13 and I run a 5.0 flat or a 4.8 . I'm 13 and I run a 4.68/40.
he runs a 4.38 and hes really quick and versatile which makes him look like one of the fastest backs in the league..
when he tried out for the Houston Texans football team he ran a 4.1 forty yard dash time at the tryout, i read somewere that he ran a 3.78 and a 3.82 in the forty but i don't know if that's true its most likely that he ran the 4.1 . u may be wondering well then people like Darren mcfadden are just a…s fast as him but Justin gatlin is a 100 meter dash sprinter and no matter what person yo hit your maximum speed at 40 meters or 50 yards n then the rest of the race is maintaining the speed so Justin gatlin would destroy somebody like Darren mcfadden in the 100 but in the 40 hed only win by like 5 yards which is like 15 feet (MORE)

The fastest cheetah ran 100 meters in 6.13 seconds. Answer B: Errr no because a greyhound can run it faster then that and last I checked Greyhounds are a lot slower then Cheetah.
Proportionally it would be about 11 seconds. But the forty yard dash is a sprint wherea the mile tests endurance. It would not be possible to determine one if you had the other.
he ran a 4.5 coming into college and when he left he ran a 4.3
According to the fact that O.J. Simpson ran the 100 yd. dash in 9.4seconds, it would calculate to him running the 40 yard dash in 3.6seconds. (9.4 divided by 100 equals 0.09 seconds per yard times 40yards equals 3.6 seconds) The 100 yd. dash may be true, but O.J. Simpson did not run a 3.6 40 M…y Answer: Even if he did run 9.4 on a 100 yrd dash, it would account to .094per yard, meaning 3.76 seconds to finish 40 yards. However, itdoesn't work that way since speed increases dramatically betweenthe 3rd and 8th second approximately while we are sprinting, so a40 yard dash is not as quick as 3.76. I'm guessing it would bearound 4.1-4.2 realistically speaking for even someone as fast asOJ Simpson. (MORE)
They can accelerate up to 60 MPH in just 3 seconds - faster than most sports cars. It's important to note though, that cheetahs are not endurance runners, meaning they can't keep this elevated speed for a lengthy period of time. It'll usually give up if it's forced to run more than a minute.
Converting 100 meters into yards.... 100 meters = 109 yards. Usain Bolt ran "109 yards" in 9.69 seconds.... 109 / 9.69 = 11.2 yards per second. The "mythical" 40-yard dash time.... 40 / 11.2 = 3.63 seconds!!!!!. Simply astonishing!
Herschel at his peak, 6'1 225, broke 4.40 (under 4.40 seconds) . U football & track guys, now how to respect that. . any where. u can measure out 40 yards and get a stopwatch and have sum1 time u. or u can go to a sports training facility and have them give u an official time.
Walter football say's he runs a 4.48. Crabtree is quoted as saying that he ran a 4.5 in high school, and hasn't been timed since. Most people see him as a Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald speed though. Jerry Rice ran a 4.69 and Fitgerald ran a 4.6. All guy's will tell you there fastest time ever if you …ask there speed. the combine almost always comes up with slower times than they normally run. Hester ran a 4.4 at the combine though he drops a 4.2 and change getting out of bed on any given day. Steve Smith considered a serious burner in the NFL ran a 4.41 and change at the combine Terell Davis ran a 4.7 and change. Crabtree won't run at combine or proday because of a foot fracture that needs surgury before his pro day to be ready for Rookie camps. If I were to stab in the dark I would have to say he wouldn't beat a 4.5 at a combine and maybee not even a 4.6 on a perfect run though he could break a 4.5 but very few have there best run at the combine like McFadden did dropping a 4.32. Most guy get tight knowing the millions of dollars on the line for a 40 yard run and choke. Deon Sanders dropped a 4.19 at the combine the fastest on record. That being said I'm a Seahawk fan and would kill to have this guy on our team. I think he's the next Jerry Rice great YAC ability good route's and the untangibles are off the chart. I don't care he's slow and only 6'1" he is physical and he is going to take away many DB man card. (MORE)
4.5 in his prime. Im not sure where you got 4.5 because for 49ers camp he ran 4.35 in pads according to rice and coaches..that means hes actually faster than that running combine times.Another words similar speed to randy moss (check his running stats)
He was clocked at an astounding 3.88 in the NFL combine. Rumors were posited suggesting an extramarital affair between clock ref Jim Dundenbeeg and Barber. Fast, though.
ya that's really fast for a QB It is also fast for your age. I would think that you will be one of the faster players on your freshman football team.

Prior to the 2006 NFL Draft at USC's Pro-Day workout, running back Reggie Bush ran the 40 yard dash in 4.33 seconds. he ran a 4.24 this summer at a charity event
From Niners Nation, March 21, 2009 "Barden posted an official 40 yard dash time of 4.61. The general consensus has been that that was a very solid time given the size he brings to the table. So what did he do at his Pro Day? Well, he rolled out a pair of impressive 40 times: 4.51 and 4.55. "
depends if you big in size or skinny but usually 4.50 Don't listen to the guy who said 4.5, that's nfl wide receiver time. I would guess Anything under 5 is is really really fast. like you should be one of the fastest people in your grade. 5.0 - 5.5 is fast. 5.5 - 6.0 is good. 6.0+ is average … At the NFL combine, the fastest players run 4.22 to 4.4, so if you are anywhere under 5.0 at age 14, you may have the ability to play football at a pretty high level in high school or even college if you continue to improve your times. If you are 5.0 to 5.5, you still have good athletic ability and you should consider playing football or any sport where foot speed is important. If you are 5.5 to 6.0 but are very big, then you have good athletic ability too, and should try to improve your speed. The very best offensive linemen at the NFL combine run 5.0 to 5.2. yeah the guy who wrote 4.50 is kinda right, i know someone in my grade who runs close to that. you really shouldnt worry about that to much because running in a straight line is gonna get you that far in sports well except in track in some cases if you do a sport like football, rugby, soccer, or basketball you should worry more about agility. probably a for 4.3 or 4.4 40 yard dash . Really depends... the type of runner for the 40yd dash and 100m is different. A test you can do is to see if you go your top speed early or do you accelerate all the way to the finish line. The best way really is to test it out yourself. Usain Bolt probably …wouldn't be able to run a 4.2 yd dash according to what he's done so far. He usually accelerates or can keep his top speed longer lasting than the others. So it's not something constant because there are a lot of variations between people. If you accelerate quickly, then >4.5, if not then 4.5 (MORE)
it's very difficult to answer. there are lot of sources about cheetahs speed and acceleration, most of them claims that cheetah can accelerate at close to 1g, and reach speed of more than 90 kmh. i have never seen an accurate measurement accept of the famous Sarah the cheetah 100m run at 6.13 se…c. now, it's true that the cheetah maybe capable of faster speeds but lets have this for our calculation. the 6.13 run is 1.6 times faster than 9.58, which is human best. now 40 yards dash best for human is somewhere around 4.24 if we divide it at that 1.6 we get 2.65 and that's what a cheetah will do more or less. CJ(Chris Johnson) ran a 4.24 in the 40 yard dash and right now is the fastes football player in my opinion and the best football player in my opinion.
I believe the best 40-yard dash he has run is a 4.69, he's been clocked anywhere from a 4.6 to a 4.8 in his prime.
The cheetah can run up to about 70 miles per hour. There are 1609meters in a mile, so the cheetah could run the one hundred meterdash in about 18 seconds.
I went to high school with him back then he ran about a 4.4 im guessing now he runs around a 4.2 or 4.3 though. (Please excuse this dumb f**** answer above me. Obviously he did not go to high school with Blake griffin. A 4.2 40 yard dash would be tied for the fastest 40 time in the NFL... Blake Gr…iffin is not the fastest guy in the NBA Let alone the NFL. Please do research before you answer people on this website.) (MORE)
desean Jackson ran a 4.29 in the 40 yard dash and is one of the best recievers
A 4.6 second 40 yards has an average speed of 17.8 mph. In comparison, Usain Bolt produced an average speed of 23.5 mph for his world record 100 meters. This is equivalent to a 3.5 second 40 yards..

It depends on the person who is running. Rondel Melendez (in 1999) and Chris Johnson (in 2008) both share first place at 4.24 in the list of top official 40 yard dash results recorded at the NFL Scouting combine since 1999, the first year electronic timing was implemented at the NFL Scouting Com…bine. Prior to 1999 40 yard dash times were somewhat unreliable and often prone to exaggeration. However, in 1986, Auburn's Bo Jackson is said to have run the fastest 40 yard dash at an NFL combine, with a reported time of 4.12. This time was obviously scrutinized, but a time of 4.18 run by Jackson within the same week certainly added some support to the legitimacy of the times. (MORE)
I would say fastest possible would be 4.8 I am a 11 year old running back and I can run it in 5.09 seconds.
In 3.7 seconds and he is the fastest NFL running back.Overall he can outrun Chris johnson's time CJ runs his in a 2.24 that's fast too but not as fast as Rashard Mendenhall #34 for the Pittsburge Steelers.
