Remember, to enter a lottery you take the initiative to enter it. If you did not take the initiative, usually by buying a ticket, you have not entered it. Also, you do not have to send money in order to get your winnings in real lotteries. If they ask for money in order for you to receive winnings, it is a scam. So, delete the email.
I git a bogus lottery winner email from the Ontario Lottery Corporation stating Mike Powell as the contact person to claim my winnings. If anyone received this please post it here and maybe we can catch this scammer.

Very suspicious, as entry into the National Lottery is anonymous. If you have registered to play the lottery online, then the email may be legitimate. However, I would advise you to check the source IP address, in the email's header, just to be certain.
Yes there is a UK National Lottery and this is regulated by the British government through The National Lottery Commission and is contracted out by tender every few years. The company currently running the lottery for the UK Government is the Camelot Group plc. The lottery may be real, but if you receive an email saying you must send money somewhere to collect your winnings, that is a scam. Especially when you have not bought any tickets.
'The National Lottery' is the name of the United Kingdom's lottery. There are no other lottery organisations in the UK - 'The United Kingdom Lottery' is either an incorrect reference to National Lottery, or a fake name used for an email scam.

There are so many mail promotions from various countries that announce big prizes to mail owners. This is one of the many internet frauds. be careful! You better put all such mails direct into spam since there is nothing like mail winnings if you have never participated in the actual lottery!
