in the past they are analogue and now they are digital. analogue produces less clearer photos if transfered to different copies while the clearness of digital are still in good condition even when photo have been transferred and copied many times. analogue camera require films while digital requires amemory card. if using digital camera, you are able to edit the photo using programmes on the computer while in analogue, photos taken can not be edited using a computer. cameras today are much smaller than in the past they are much more convenient to use and bring along compared to those in the past.
Photography has evolved from heavy glass plates and fuzzy pictures to sharp crisp pictures taken with cameras that u can hold with one hand. photographers used to have to develop using very dangerous chemicals as well. some even went insane from being exposed to the fumes for so long. now you can just print photos at home without risk of harm.
Cameras first started as a camera obscura. Basically, to make a camera obscura, you would need a dark room or box with a hole in one side with a small diameter and then a screen or blank wall opposite for the image to project on. The image projected upside down and was not permanent. The camera obscura was around for a long long time, but it wasn't until the 1800's that people began to make semi-permanent and permanent images. These were made by putting acids and silver or whatever was needed onto a slate and then light would be absorbed by the slate and the picture would show up. When this was first setting into place the images wouldn't last for very long, but other people tackled it and they came up with ways to make the images last for long periods of time, and then permanent. The cameras were massive and expensive but now they have been made smaller and very much affordable, but that is compromised with quality and how realistic the images are with detail.
Cameras have become more refined and compact. They now produce the image instantly, and they are made much smaller nowadays.
