Heredity has great influence in your physical development. Genes often determine the phenotype of an individual. For example, if your parents have the defective gene that causes dwarfism, then you'll most likely have dwarfism.

Sir Francis Galton, a 19th century English mathmatician and scientist, wanted to understand heredity and hoe it influenced child development. He introduced a theory to psychology. He proposed that children inherited all of their traits and personality characteristics form their parents, therefore if the parents were talented, the off-spring would be as well.
