Almost all modern CPU's are measured in mhz. Most are fast enough to have a ghz rating.

Such as 2400 mhz would be 2.4 ghz. This reflects the clock speed default on the CPU.

The CPU is not a measurement. The CPU is the Central Processing Unit that contains everything needed to run the computer and other removable discs and hardwares that work with the computer. The CPU is the brain of the computer.

CPU is the Central processing Unit. It consists of power, ALU or the Arithmetic logic unit, RAM, ROM, hard disk and the interfaces. It is the skull of the computer. Inside it is the brain or the microprocessor. It is an interface between the computer peripherals and the microprocessor. It's speed is measured in clock frequency (kHz, MHz, GHz, etc.).

A CPU is a Central Processing Unit or more commonly a Processor. It's speed is measured by clock rate or frequency generally in multiples of hertz and IPC or instructions per clock. Frequency multiplied by IPC will give you the IPS or instructions per second. Modern processors tend to give you a number in Ghz or Gigahertz. The scale is as fallows:

  • Kilohertz, or kHz, = to 1,000 Hertz
  • Megahertz, or MHz, = 1,000,000 Hertz or 1,000 kHz
  • Gigahertz, or GHz, = 1,000,000,000 Hertz, or 1,000,000 kHz, or 1,000 MHz.

What is the unit of measurement of memory and speed in computer?

The memory of a computer is measured in bits, most commonly megabytes (MB) and gigabytes (GB). The speed of a computer is measured in Ghz.

What is the speed rating computers are measured in today?

Computer processor speed is measured in Hertz, usually in Megahertz or Gigahertz. This is a measure of frequency. and in the context of computer processing units (CPU) the measure is of the number of cycles or completed instructions performed per second.

How is the CPU speed measured an expression?

speed of a processor is measured by CMU(Clock Multiplier Unit). Formula:(speed of processor in Hz)/(FSB of processor)= CMU

The speed of the central processing unit is measured in what?

The Central Processing Unit (CPU) which is the microprocessor chip that's mounted on the system board. The CPU is essentially the heart and brain of a computer. all the programs you run or date that you enter into a computer is actually manipulated directly or indirectly by the CPU. Ultimately, the CPU determines the capabilities and speed of the computer. The CPU is the most powerful chip in the computer and can operate at rates of 3200 million cycles per second (3.2 GHs) and greater. The CPU works at a speed limited by its design and is controlled by an electronic clock crystal and timing chip. They are measured in cycles per second, or hertz. The CPU operates so quickly (millions of times per second) that the terms are megahertz, or MHz, and gigahertz, GHz to describe their speeds

What word describes the speed of a computer?

the computer's speed is measured in gigahertz (GHZ)
