first personal computer had less features than today's personal computers.
Today we use personal computer with high speed and more storage space.
The first personal computers were so heavy they had a big carrying handle.

∙ 13y agoPower! That would be the biggest difference. Availability, cost, space required to put a computer. Some of the old ones took up the space of an average basement and more. Another difference would be smarts. A lot of today's computers can think on their own. There is one super computer that runs an entire aquarium, if I remember correctly it is the second or third largest in the US. This computer will talk to you, answer questions like, 'What is the status of tank 12 and the status of filtration system 14?' Or 'How much oxygen is in tank 15?'. It will answer questions like that. Not only that if there is a big problem, it will page someone on it own. It can also handle smaller things itself like maintaining a constant temperature, oxygen level and the like.

∙ 11y agoIf you have seen a photo of the ENIAC, one of the first computers (from the late 1940s), you will notice it is huge, compared to computers from today. Early computers were almost the size of a room, and they used a lot of energy, and a lot of vacuum tubes. Today, of course, computers use microprocessors instead of tubes, and are much smaller (we have laptops, desktops, notebooks, etc).
In addition to their larger size and their use of vacuum tubes, the early computer was more like a calculator. Today's computers can perform complicated operations, from translating foreign languages to providing answers to questions at lightning speed, and they can access the entire world-wide web. In the late 1940s, there was no internet, and the ENIAC was praised for its ability to perform mathematical procedures (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing) very quickly.
