when the Periodic Table was first made, it only had the basic elements eg. hydrogen, oxygen, etc. Now with scientist finding more elements and creating them eg. americum, einstienium or europium, there are more elements than ever before. An element only has to exist for 2 seconds before they put it on the periodic table.

Modern periodic table contain elements in order of increasing atomic number. Previously, elements were arranged in order of increasing atomic masses. Henry Moseley discovered modern periodic table.

The periodic table of Newlands contain only 56 chemical elements and the law of octaves is not sufficiently representative with regard to periodicity of chemical properties. This a table can be considered as a mechanical arrangement, not so logical.

The modern timetable is organised with metals and non metals whereas Mendeleev timetable was organised by the increasing atomic mass
