It's recommended that a female mouse should be given a 3 month break between each breeding. It allows them to rest & recover, regaining any weight lost & makes sure they don't become ill.
How long is it between litters for mice
a litter/group of mice.
She probabley would if she had another litter of her own about the same age. If she did not have a litter she would not produse milk for the wild babies.
mice have 8-14 siblings in a litter
You probably can but you can get rodent litter at almost any pet store (try petco) and training mice to use a litter box can be hard but good luck
When they can walk and their eyes are open and they don't take milk from their mother
Yes, they can. Mother mice will sometimes eat their young if they think their young don't have much chance a survival (if the young are sick), if they a disturbed and think they are at risk or just because it's the mother's first litter and she gets carried away. Also, if a mouse dies, another mouse may eat it for the sake of cleanliness. Mice don't tend to kill other mice to eat them.
There are about 1-18 mice in a mouse litter.
How many babies can mice have in a lifetime: depending on how long they live.... If they live about 5 years, and there is 1 to 32 in each litter, and they can have babies 4 times a year.... you do the math!
There can be from one to 12 babies in a litter.
Several rats may survive if it`s a healthy litter the answer may change depending on season and living condition
It is not a good idea to add more mice into the cage, especially adult mice that she does not know! But adding additional newborn mice is a common practice. The sooner, the better, and put the new additions behind her back, so she will think that she delivered them! Do not add any more baby mice when her original litter has started growing "peach fuzz." At the peach fuzz phase, the babies will start to have their own distinct odor, and the mother will instantly recognize which babies are hers, and which aren't. If she smells babies that aren't hers, she will eat them.
a mouse can have up to 5 to 7 babies in a litter
