Depending on the size propane tank you have for your grill...normally if you are working with a standard size propane tank that comes with your grill when you buy it we normally will get about 25 BBQs out of it. Until it becomes very light-weight and cold on the outside. Again these 25 BBQs are regular Hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken cooking...NOT slow cooking ribs, etc.....for hours at a time. These slow cooking BBQ foods can equal 2-3 regular BBQs!!! Hope this helps!

Propane should be stored in a cool dry place with good ventilation.

Keep in mind that one of the primary dangers of a propane leak is that the gas is heavier than air and will fill up a room from the bottom up, resulting in asphyxiation of anyone sleeping in the area. If you have a propane detector, do not put it up high like a smoke detector, but down low.

When possible they should be kept outside of your house in a shed or a garage.

By pouring hot water on a propane cylinder you are heating the metal cylinder. The liquid propane in the cylinder is cold and forms condensation on the outside of the cylinder showing the level of propane remaining in the tank much like condensation forming on a glass of ice water on a hot day.

How do I get rid of propane tanks?

Purging a propane cylinder is done by first removing air in cylinder that has never had propane in it. Then cylinder is is filled with propane vapor appx. 15psi this vapor is then blown out. This process is then repeated appx.4-5 times this removes all unflamable gas from cylinder and replaces it with propane vapor. If a new cylinder is not purged the propane will not burn properly.
